Let me start by saying this; it takes a certain kind of person to pull off a double breasted jacket/suit coat of any kind. The type of person that likes to stand out from the pack and wants to be taken seriously. The type of person that knows what they want, and may not know exactly how they are going to achieve that, but knows that it will get done.

I came across this picture of Mr. Fonzworth Bentley recently doing some research for @BldgStonehenge. With fall basically here, well here for those of you that don’t live in south Florida, everyone is gearing up for all the sartorial fun summer’s heat sometimes doesn’t allow.
Mr. Bentley’s outfit here is just done so well. I have recently had some questions on colors and patterns and I thought I would give some advice.
Sport Coat - For the fall jackets are a must! During the summer it’s usually too hot for them. I’m a fan of jackets with patterns to them like the jacket pictured. Not to crazy but enough to get you noticed. Not too sure of the material here but tweed, wool and cashmere are great for this time of year.
The Tie - You see here Fonzworth pulls a color out of the jacket to tie the tie into the outfit. Also peep the fabric play with textures. I think we have been so accustomed to silk ties there so many other fabrics to mix and match, it really adds depth to your outfit.
The Shirt- Now since his tie is so bold and has a pattern to it. Keep the shirt simple as he does. It doesn’t have to be plain but keep it simple.
Pocket Square- I AM AN ADVOCATE FOR MORE POCKET SQUARES. The pocket is there use it. Fonsworth does two things here, he carefully picked what at first glance is a simple pocket square but he brings out the darker chocolate in the pattern of the coat and the what appears to be blue rolled edge is the I don’t give a care color. I say it’s good to know the rules style but its way more fun to break them.

I know that’s not really his thing but Rolex should get Nickeslon Wooster to model this.

His idiosyncratic persona—crisp knife-sharp suits, pork-pie hats, sunglasses-at-night—provided the perfect visual to his music. Oh to go back to the days when musical artist cared about there dress. Renowned for his distinctive style in suits, hats and sunglasses. He was also noted for the fact that at times, while the other musicians in the band continued playing, he would stop, stand up from the keyboard and dance for a few moments before returning to the piano.
