When to make the commitment.
Ties are something that I don’t post enough of in general because there are so few that are worth posting. I recently introduced my little cousin who just recently graduated to the Knottery. Great introductory ties for the gentleman who is entering the work force at a reasonable price, and worth the commitment for a starter wardrobe. A tie to me is almost as important as the shoes you have on. If you are going to make the investment to have a $300 pair of shoes, a $900 + suit; then your tie should fit the aesthetic have crafted.
Most of my ties that I have are vintage. When I do decide to make the commitment to purchase a well crafted tie, there are only a few brands that I will even consider. With the help of General Knot, I have just added them to the list of ties worth the commitment of $100 + range. We featured their ties for The Selected Few “A Gathering of Style” trunk show last month. Andy of General Knot was kind enough to throw me a complimentary tie for displaying them.
Here is the advice I can give you with ties. When making the commitment to purchase a tie greater than $100 ask yourself these questions.
If the number is less than four, you should think about another tie. I went with the Deadstock Lambswool Hopsacking Necktie. I think it got the job done. We all get to the stage where we have to make larger investments in our wardrobe. I make sure that my accessories fit my wardrobe not the other way around. That is the best way to ensure it’s worth the commitment. I rocked this tie with four looks and I could easily do four more. Hope these looks help you out.

All Tweed Everything.
Not really. I thought it appropriate that I finish this tweed day off with a WIWT. Also I wanted to update you all on where I am right now with some of the things that I have hinted at for the past few months.
The Branding Agency- We have our first client project. A tie company. You will know it when you see it. Crafting a collaboration project specifically for the ADT followers, plus a lot of cool things that I feel will be organic. I wouldn’t push it if I wouldn’t wear it. Real talk.
Trunk Show - We have 2 of the 3 brands we need to make this work. The Gibson has agreed to let us host it. We are shooting for the end of November. Dates and brands will be supplied
The Gibson Meetups - Next Friday is the first Friday of the month, but being that half of us will be in NYC we will be moving it to the following friday. The cool thing is that we keep having more people, so we may have to move it to Thursday because the private rooms at the Gibson can only be reserved for 2 hours on Friday and the weekends. I will put the word out before hand for anyone who wants to attend.
Last but definitely not least the app. I haven’t spoken too much about it, and the only thing that I can guarantee is that this will help you find or enhance your personal style. Other than that, look for people to be using it by Fashion week. Download it.
So i wanted to take this time to do my #followfriday for my immediate team. All of these guys are well on their way to changing the game in their own individual lanes. It’s cool to have a collective like this. ImageGranted, PresentingCorey, Cirq6, CB, Wingtipsandloafers, Manshion, Wellpressedgamer, Addison Wright.
I also want to thank all my blurs who have been going hard and supporting me. All the outside supporters who keep me motivated and give their support behind the scenes from the messages to the reblogs.

WIWT - Prep-paring for the Weekend - It is Friday, finally! I am glad to see this long week come to a conclusion. I reverted back to the uniform today (navy blazer/chinos), and paired a green and navy repp bow tie with a navy/powder blue check shirt up top. Down low I paired British Tan chinos with chukka boots.
My man beebo bringing it down once more.
WIWT - Details of today’s fit.
WIWT - Be-Tweed It or Not - Its cold out there! This was definitely one of those ‘dress for the weather, not the calendar’ days where I reside. I made no hesitation to pull the tweed out from the doldrums of my closet. I accompanied the herringbone jacket and vest with other autumn colors like burgandy, blue, olive green, and tan. Suede chukkas once again finished off my outfit.

WIWT - Tan and Blue today. I have always been a believer that your tie and PS can be the same color, they just can’t be the same pattern. So today I complemented my navy stripe bow tie with a navy polka dot PS. As a perused by tumblr dash I saw that GW mentioned the same thing the other day, so I am echoing his sentiments.
For the bottom half I went with a light khaki and suede chukka boots.

an exercise in minimalism. no patterns, black leathers, no peacocking (which i am known to do here and there.) and i can dig it. growing up, one post at a time. somebody tell my mom, oh wait, i will, speed dial, 1. mommas boy started a blog and shes proud of me.
gonna do a couple laps at the park later if anyone wants to eat my dust.

-sometimes simplicity is all you need.
I rarely post WIWT photos. The ones I do post tend to be ones shot and posted in the style that I would do if I did. To me personally. This look matched with the background look great. I personally like how Tumblr allows you to curate the way images are displayed when uploaded. To me this is the best combination in my opinion. It gives followers more to love about your style.
