Savile Row Part 1 of 3
Great series by the BBC covering a transition on the historical Savile Row. In this episode they cover the impending opening of an A&F flagship store and what it may do to the rent. They also cover the business side of being a Savile Row tailor, which really peaked my interest. The series also covers some of the new blood on The Row by visiting the homie Patrick Grant of Norton & Sons. Very detailed series. I can’t find parts two and three. Will post when I find.
Silly but fun: Cad & The Dandy propaganda
Behind the scenes of a photo shoot that I agreed to be pert of to help out one of the tailors I have used.
You may just be able to spot me a couple of times!

Top tonsorialist Brent Pankhurst – THE RAKE’s favourite London barber – recently clubbed together with filmmaker Sean Ash and stylist Mark Anthony to produce a classy ’60s-tinged short film titled ‘Head to Toe’, depicting a day in the life of a Caine-esque character making his way around Mayfair. The stylish, well-shod, sharply suited, leathery and lathered results of their collaboration can be seen here:www.pankhurstlondon.com
A Journey Into Another World
Romance, excitement and pure pleasure are all bound up in journeys that link the great European cities. The adventures of celebrated historic personalities are still palpable today, held in the original 1920s carriages with their Lalique glass panels, wood burning stoves and Art Deco marquetry.
The Orient Express is a great example of how Art Deco can still be enjoyed today as much as it was in the 1930’s. I hope to take the Orient Express as a great example that Art Deco interiors can still feel as luxurious, if not more exclusive than it originally felt for the occupants. I will be hoping to replicate the success that the Orient Express has had regarding its popularity, although I will be adding a modern twist within the design of the Abbeydale Picture House.
London Riots. (The BBC will never replay this. Send it out) (by mYcHeMiCaLrOmAnCeGaL)
‘Darcus Howe, a West Indian Writer and Broadcaster with a voice about the riots. Speaking about the mistreatment of youths by police leading to an up-roar and the ignorance of both police and the governement. Intelligent black male. SEND THIS TO EVERYONE!
(Also, did anyone notice that the interviewer tried to make him ignorant… Complete back-fire I must say)’
I haven’t wrapped my head around everything that is going on in the UK right now. But the fact that this is not available on the bbc makes me think of this quote.
”If you’re not careful, the newspaper will have you hating the people who are oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing” - Malcolm X

Chromaroma… like that it extends to the bus and bike network too. The tube sucks in summer.

This just reminds me of how much a police state the UK is. I still wouldn’t mind living there for a few years.

Art / Branding: Adidas ad Lucas Price are all in.
Following his recent appearance in the adidas is all in spot, the artist Lucas Price a.k.a. Cyclops has been hard at work on his latest exhibition ‘The Friends of Tony Romanoff’.
This is the only english version of this series. I will eventually get to playing the others, I just thought this was a great collaboration between an established brand recognizing the influencers in the art scene, and making it work.
