Over the weekend I got this beauty in the mail from the fellas over at Marshall Anthony… they also send me some shots of the crafting process….
Mike had been talking this bespoke job up for a while now. Excited to the results of the work the Marshal Anthony team has done. DC look out for these guys.
There are a few select brands that we will always regard with a sort of reverent silence. These are the brands that got us started thinking about heritage handmade in the first place, the individuals and companies who inspired us and redefined the way that we interact with our own consumerism. Billykirk is such a brand, and their No. 166 Large Carryall is a perfect example of why. It’s timeless, like a chimeric blend between a vintage doctor’s bag and an old tool kit. It’s practical, able to hold a spontaneous-travel-encouraging amount of stuff. And, of course, it’s beautiful to look at. These are the sorts of objects that catch our imaginations and make us sit quietly at attention for a few moments. They make us feel like we can still learn things. Which is how we should always feel, really. See more of the collection here. Order it by phone from Indigo & Cotton by calling 843.718.2980— careful, they sell out in the blink of an eye.
